Prague to Santorini

Officially our last day of the cruise and Prague. We started the day with a final wander along the river and back to the square to explore a few more streets. For us Prague lived up to its reputation and we would happily visit again.

Our flight to Santorini was an early afternoon flight and we enjoyed one last look at the Czech countryside on our way the the airport.

Our flights all went smoothly with only our Santorini flight taking off a little late but it didn't really make any difference. The views from the plane was great so I happily snapped away.

Thankfully our transfer was still waiting for us. The van had only us so we were delivered straight to the hotel. We were dropped at the bottom of a walkway and met by a very agile porter. At first he used the wheels over a cobble stoned walkway and then when we got to the steps he hoisted one of the cases up on his shoulder and carried the other one. Thank goodness we hadn't over packed them. To add the impressive feat of carrying the bags, he almost ran down the steps. He had to stop a couple of times so he wouldn't lose us. There were about 150 steps with numerous turns with no two steps the same height or depth, all in the dark with low lighting, and that was only to reception. Then, there was another 50 or so steps to our room. Below is what it looks like in the daylight.

In the dark it felt like we would never get there, but finally we did and the room didn't disappoint. The porter took in our bags and told us he would be back. As promised he was back in about two minutes with a bottle of wine and baklava. The room has a sunken bedroom and a small lounge area around from door. It's perfect!  There is also a private balcony but all we can see tonight are the lights on the surrounding hills. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.
